Control-F Managing Director, Kevin Mansell explained to attendees at the annual HTCIA Asia Pacific Training Conference in Hong Kong on 2-4 December 2009, how examinations of mobile phones are more similar to icebergs than they may have previoulsy imagined. Kevin also delivered a hands-on workshop to conference delegates which explained and shared a methodology for reverse engineering a memory dump of a mobile phone whose file system is not understood or decoded by forensic tools.

The event was professionally organised as usual and was a great opportunity to meet and hear from other key names from the forensic community including Andy Rosen and Drew Fahey.  It also included an extremely popular iPhone and Blackberry workshop from Bruce Downey of York Regional Police, Ontario.
