I have a mobility impairment

Please do email us at bookings@controlf.co.uk if you are either booked to attend, or considering attending a Control-F course.

We pre-allocate classroom seating positions for students and can easily share a plan of our classroom layout so that you can choose where you would prefer to be positioned.

Our Wyboston training classroom is on the ground floor. The pavement has a sloped kerb to assist wheelchair users. The doorway into our building has a small threshold which is navigable with a wheelchair. Our alternate emergency fire exit from the classroom has a ramp.

We’re keen to know whether there are specific things that we can put in place before and during your attendance to help make sure you get the most from the course.

I am, or think I might be, dyslexic

We recognise that dyslexia can not only present challenges for delegates, but that those challenges are different for each individual; that there is no “one size fits all” solution.

By the way, we are supporters of the fab charity Made By Dyslexia and agree with them that dyslexic thinking can be a superpower!

Please do email us at bookings@controlf.co.uk if you are either booked to attend, or considering attending a Control-F course. We can then ask whether there are specific things that we can put in place before and during your attendance to help make sure you get the most from the course.

We’ve listed below some examples of ways in which we can help, but don’t consider this an exhaustive list!

  • Providing digital copies of materials for you to read in advance of a lesson
  • Assisting with enabling Windows accessibility features to reduce “visual stress” (e.g. colour schemes). Your Windows account has admin rights, so feel free to change these yourself if you know how.
  • Re-printing materials using alternate fonts/colours
  • Providing additional time in any assessment activity
  • Providing audio versions of assessment questions
  • Providing extra support outside of lessons

We try and avoid using red and green as highlight colours in our training materials, but we know that there will always be ways in which we can make our materials more “CVD friendly”.

We’ve listed below some examples of ways in which we can help, but don’t consider this an exhaustive list!

We’re not autism experts, but by listening to our autistic students we hope to be able to better support them in how we design our materials and our courses.

I have a visual impairment

Where possible we use screen relay software to broadcast the trainer’s screen to student PCs to assist with readability.

I have a dietary requirement

Please do email us at bookings@controlf.co.uk if you are either booked to attend, or considering attending a Control-F course and you want to alert us to a particular dietary requirement.

We can then alert our catering suppliers (as you can imagine, these are conversations we have often!) and get you the information you need.
